Arthur Rackham Homage 2017
For a homage assignment, I focused on the works of Arthur Rackham and combined it with one of my favourite scenes from Jurassic Park.
I altered the original design of the movie’s velociraptors to more closely represent Rackham’s style, focusing on his ‘Leviathan’ piece in particular.
Following his technique, I did a graphite drawing, emphasising outlines and shadows. Then, with a limited palette of pthalo green & raw sienna inks, I layered washes of colour and went back in with a fine brush for details and outlines.
